There was this party where I went with my friends. And let me confirm in the beginning that I am a regular smoker and hate going to parties where there is no open space to go and have a peaceful smoke.
So, here I was, with friends who did not smoke, and with no verandah or terrace for me to get some fresh air, or good breath as you may call it. I was trying to keep my calm but it was becoming increasingly impossible for me to stay there. Obviously I could not have walked out as the hosts were common friends and I did not want to offend them as already I had been meeting them after quite a few months.
And then I could not hold it any longer and went up to Smith, the host, and my long time friend and ex-colleague. I had to ask him to excuse myself for a quick smoke. Smith was talking to his sister Jennah who, to my huge surprise, was smoking a cigarette! I mumbled the words, “How come you are smoking indoors?” Jennah then gave me a hearty laugh and informed me all about electronic cigarette. She said that her boyfriend used to be a heavy smoker and his mother asked him to shift to electronic cigarette so that he was happy and moreover was not causing any harm to himself or the people around him.
Well, to be honest, I was just so jealous of Jennah right then! It has been seven months since that day, and I have been a faithful user of electronic cigarette. it has cut the bill from my smoking list to a considerable amount, it leaves me with no stinky awkwardness, and I don’t cough as much as I used to previously once I caught even the slightest cold.
